Survey Support Services
In conjunction with the site civil design work that RCI has been completing for Heavenly Mountain Resorts, RCI’s survey team has provided survey support services for the design and construction of the initial Epic Discovery Projects. Included in the work completed by RCI’s survey team were individual tree surveys, topographic surveys, preliminary alignment surveys of proposed improvements, construction staking, and as-built surveys.
Topographic Survey for the Alpine Coaster Forest Flyer
Upon approval of the Epic Discovery Projects by the Forest Service and the TRPA, RCI prepared construction level plans and completed a detailed topographic survey for the Alpine Coaster Forest Flyer Project, one of the first major components of the Epic Discovery Projects to be constructed. This project site is at an elevation in excess of 9,200 feet with steep, forested terrain. RCI surveyed the proposed alignment to allow the design team to make adjustments as needed to avoid large boulder clusters and old growth trees.
On-call Survey Services Provided
RCI was retained to provide on-call survey services throughout the duration of the construction of the project. RCI was able to respond typically within 24 hours with requests for construction staking surveys. The construction surveys included the staking for all of the proposed improvements, including the footings for the uphill and downhill track for the Coaster, the uphill bull wheel structure and the passenger loading/unloading building. RCI also completed as-built surveys of key components.
Epic Discovery Continues….
RCI continues to be retained by Heavenly to complete on-going survey work related to the next phase of Epic Discovery Projects.
