Main Entry Into Minden
The Minden Gateway was designed to provide an attractive visual focus which enhances the main entry into Minden at the convergence of State Route 88 and Highway 395.
Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) Right-of-Way
The entire project area fell within the NDOT right of way at this intersection. NDOT’s Landscape and Aesthetics Corridor Plans provided a framework, and prior projects in the Town provided the ‘character’ elements. These were joined together to provide a visually interesting project with emphasis on pedestrian access, a small plaza area for gathering, and ample seating for people purchasing lunch at the nearby center.
Drainage Challenges
The existing site storm drainage had been impacted from other development in the area and no longer functioned in an acceptable manner. Through a coordinated effort with NDOT, the project design was successful at resolving the drainage challenges on the site, as well as alleviating a drainage concern in the intersection itself.
Services Provided
RCI completed the initial site survey, provided construction staking, daily construction inspection, materials testing, and overall project management.
