Pavement Engineering
RCI has been providing pavement engineering services for Zephyr Heights GID since 2012, generally consisting of pavement analyses and pavement rehabilitation in multiple phases for the Zephyr Heights GID (ZHGID).
Condition Assessment
Services include analyses to assess the condition of existing paved roadways in this Lake Tahoe Basin high-density neighborhood and the development of a comprehensive pavement improvement plan set and a Master Maintenance Plan that encompasses the entire GID. This plan was developed in phases to accommodate fiscal year budgets and available funds.
Survey & Pavement Engineering
RCI work includes identifying road sections to be redesigned with new pavement sections, road sections to be crack-filled and slurry-sealed, utility collars to be replaced or added prior to paving operations, and newly paved sections of road. Given this steep mountain community’s density and narrow roads, traffic control and advance notice of road work are key to maintaining positive relationships with homeowners and residents.
Contractor Bidding
RCI prepares contract documents for contractor bidding and selection and conducts pre-construction activities such as pre-bid meetings and bid addendums, pre-construction meetings, construction administration, construction inspections, pay request reviews and payment recommendations.
